AvidBiotics

AvidBiotics, Corp.

Specificity

AvidBiotics is a Biotech company out of South San Francisco who specializes in generating non-antibody proteins that specifically target bacteria, viruses or cancer cells. They came to BKC in need of a website that would represent their company’s vision and quality of research. We created something that is unorthodox for biotech industries by building a vibrant site that appeals to both the industry and the everyday user interested in these types of biotech advancements. We created a unique, 3 column content layout to give the site a published feel and utilize the WordPress platform, allowing content partners to add publications, news and articles.

Vintage Communications

Vintage Communications

Connecting one to all

Vintage Communications was one of our first clients. I was a friend of the family and as a gift, created their original logo in 2000. When BKC officially started in 2009, Vintage Communications approached us for an update to their identity as well as a complete build for their website. The typeface is 100% custom; a modified version of their original 100% custom typeface!

Balloons Above the Valley

Balloons Above the Valley

Up up and away!

Balloons Above the Valley was in need of a major change from their previous look and wanted their new site to join the ranks of professional design. In their brief, they felt their that passengers should get a sense of fantasy and wonder when they enter the site. Along with look and feel, Balloons Above the Valley wanted to make sure that their guests would take advantage of their seasonal deals and signup online. The Wizard of Oz was definitely an inspiration as you can see the Kansas sky in the background. We chose a muted background to allow the vibrant colors communicate important information.

Bergin Glass Impressions

Bergin Glass Impressions

Website » berginglass.com: Bergin Glass Impressions wanted to have a look and feel that would brighten up their original all-black site, but encompass the sleek qualities that Bergin is known for. We chose to not do a total reversal of color because we felt that the site was more of a presentation of their work rather than a content driven explanation of their screen printing and etching services. The colors are close to the ones you see on our site, but that was all coincidental. It came down to creating a set of colors that wouldn’t clash with their bottles, yet that weren’t too bright, and definitely not too dark.

Jovance Salon & Barbering

Jovance Salon and Barbering
Website » jovance.com: Jovance Salon & Barbering wanted a site that would catch the attention of their target audience and keep them coming back to the site again and again. Using a WordPress platform, we created a site that can be updated in-house by the Jovance team. Jovance wanted to be able to change timely items such as: promotions, Vlogs (video blogs), Jovance TV and Membership clubs. Their highest priority is that their customer, their guest, understands the culture of their workplace.

Sonría Wines – Website

Sonría Wines

Website » sonriawines.com: Stacey Emerson has partnered up with her husband and winemaker, Keith Emerson to produce Sonría Pinot Noir. Sonría came to BKC to design their wine package and overall identity. We were commissioned to design the label, website and other online marketing materials. They wanted something that would represent their daughter’s smile and really bring out the warmth of their product. We created a site with a soft, subtle approach while presenting the package in a bold display.

Jovance – Identity

Jovance Salon and Day Spa

Identity » Jovance Salon and Day Spa sought out BKC to re-invigorate their image. They desired a logo that represented their expert knowledge of the latest trends for hair and salon treatments, their high quality services and customer care. BKC took a fashion-forward approach to give Jovance a stronger presence in their area. We wanted to represent fluidity and rejuvenation with the organic shaped ‘J’ and savvy fashion with the custom font for the logotype. The icon and logotype can be used together, as shown, or individually depending on application.

Pacific Computer Consultants – Website

Website » pcc-sf.com: Pacific Computer Consultants came to us to create a more approachable, easier to read website. We built wire-frames to quickly demonstrate how the new layout would communicate their message by reducing content per page and creating a navigation system that would allow users to easily browse the site. Large color fields on the home page separate information into bite size bits and the introduction of orange and green act as perfect accents and to show attention to action items.
